WHEREA5, Pitkin County is the owner, operator and sponsor of -
the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (sardy Field); and

=:;`t� WHEREAS, Pitkin County has undertaken to construct the 1987 �-.;
Airport Terminal Expansion/Remodel project and has applied to the �
FAA for funding assistance; and � :�

WHEREAS, the FAA has made an offer of assistance through an :€
;�.f� AIP grant, which contains certain assurances by and obligations `:'

of Pitkin County; and -
WHEREAS, Pitkin County has previously (or simultaneously)
, � budgeted and/or appropriated the grant local funding matching
share;

;� NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE50LVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY

amount of $862,707 ($550,583, terminal escpansion/remodel;
_ $159,124, landside improvements; $153,0�0, runway apron expan-
t�y sion) is hereby accepted, according to the AIP Grant offer
(including Grant Assurances) attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
,;;.� incorporated herein by this reference.

Further, thati the Chair is hereby authorized and directed to
- execute the AIP Grant Offer on behalf of the County and any other
documents necessary to completa the transaction, subject to
`-� recommendation for approval by the Director of Aviation and ,;

thls offer as herefnafter provlded, and (b) the benefits to accrue to the United States and the
publlc from the accompllshment of the ProJect and compliance with the assurances and

Conditions
1. The maximum obligatlon of the United States payable under this offer shall be 5862,707.00. ; ,�..
Eor the purposes of any future grant amendments which may increase the foregofng
; maxlmum obligatlon ot the United States under the provlsions of Section 512(b) of the `

; 2. The allowable costs oi the proJect shall not include any costs determined by the FAA to

Secretary shall prescribe. Unless otherwlse stated in this grant agreement,any program
income earned by the sponsor during the grant perlod shall be deducted from the total �`
allomable proJect costs prSor to making the flnal determination of the United States share.
a F1na1 determination ot the United States share will be based on the flnal audlt of the
total amount of alloaable proJect costs and settlement will be made for any upward or
� downward adJustments to the Federal share of costs.

- b. The FAA reserves the right to amend or wlthdraw this offer at any time prior to its t`

6. This offer shall expire and the Un[ted States shall not be obligated to pay any part o[
the costs of the proJect unless thls offer has been accepted by the sponsor on or before <'�
June 30, 1987 or such subsequent date as may be prescribed in mriting by the FAA.

purposes of this grant agreement, the term "Federal funds" means funds however used or
disbursed by the sponsor that were originally pald pursuant to this or any other Federal �,.•
