PROSPECTING PERMIT Td NEW FRONTTER
IN ORDER TO CONDDCT SEISMIC EXPIARATION ACTIVITIES
ALONG LINES 87-351-21, CA8706 AND CA8707

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County,
Colorado (hereinafter the "Board”) reviewed a prospecting permit �'����->

application by New Frontier exploration(hereinafter "Applicant") �. �
' at a regular meeting on November 10, 1987 : and �( -

WKEREAS, the applicant has demonstrated that the U.S. Forest
., Service has authoriz�d a permit for the lands under Forest f:_: ; :

'! Service jurisdiction and has used the recommendations of the i:l`. `
i t�;'.
� � Aivision of Wildlife with regard to the time that the activity � f''
i ' .
;1 may take place (Nov. I1-Dec. 15) ; and

� F7HEREA5, the Board recognizes that the applicants have

�;� acquired the necessary permits from private land owners;and 1'
,';� WFiF.RF.AS� the Board recognizes that the applicant shall
�! notify surrounding landowners, within one miie of the lines, 1•
�
._� regarding the temporary disturbances associated with the act-
ivity;and
,� WHEREAS, the Board acknowledges that this review in no way
�
signifies the approval of the future development of oil and gas
activities in Pitkin Caunty. x
�'� NOW, TI�REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board does hereby r
':j grant the requested prospecting permit to the applicant, with the �'

i - following conditions of approval:
'� 1. All landowners within one mile of the proposed active �
1 lines shall be'noticed prior to commencement of work y ;;
i along that line.

2. Prior to commencement of any of the approved lines and
cross lines the applicant shall verify to the Planning
Office that the Valley Journal and local radio station
have been notified and this notification will take '
place prior to commencement of the operation. -

4. The applicants shall notify the Planning Office of what
, their operations are on a daily basis and verify in

b 6. Johnson landing zones shall be used for overnight � '•,
� helicopter storage on1y. Only one round trip per day : `�' .

7. No blasting within one half west mile of Highway 133
; shall be allowed on Line (87-315-21). No blasting
� shall be allowed in the valley £loor on the east side
of Highway 133 on Line 87-315-21 .
� 8. The County prospecting permit shall run concurrent with ti
the USFS approvals with regard to the time length of
the operation.
