�} was brought to the attention of the BOCC.

- would be out of the water prior to the high water season.

-_ Duddy-Viele Construction, Inc., had been awarded the General

Contractor contract by the staff. Esary told the BOCC that the
references for the company were cheaked, and the company was
,4};'�� given superlative marks by the references.
The bidders were asked to bid, using a percentage of construction
,•=`��� cost for setting the fee. Duddy-Viele was the lowest
,^`'',i "responsible and responsive" bidder, bidding 3.5� of the -
construction costs. The next lowest bidder bid 4.25�.

Esary explained that the Division One services portion of the
contract had already been bid, on a dollar amount.

; Staff recommended approval of the award. No contract was `Y
`-Y� presented at this time to the BoCC, as it was still heing x -,
prepared. The architect, the County Attorney, and the FAA would �`r>'
,.f have to approve the form of the contract. [The architects jF,��•'

It was expZained that as the County was on a "fast track," and
was going to handle the subcontracts on a bid basis, this
contract was awarded on a percentage fee basis, instead of a •

Fred discussed the 8040 green line, and the necessity for the �
""_� people involved to deal with the City of Aspen regarding this t
-� ..`-'� issue. He thought that it was less than appropriate to require 7,
� an applicant in this instance to go through the procedure, as ,
they would be building below the Centennial project, and the
'�'1 intention of the 804o rules was to protect the viewplane of Aspen
:��� Mountain.

report regarding the property.

His agenda item revealed some good news for the County, regarding
increased bus ridership on the City routes (up 1.6$), the valley
routes (up 3.4�), the MAA. routes (10.7$), and on the Maroon Bells •�
service (up 12.3x) . Systemwide ridership increased 1.3�. '

The insurance premiums had increased, tripping the 10$ or $10,000 �'' '
� variance from budget threshold mandated by the IGA [Inter-
Governmental Agreement] on the expenditure side. On the revenue .
side, the skier shuttle revenues and the above referenced bus �'
• fares came in higher than anticipated. '

and there was some additional discussion. �"'
