1. The Geueral Assembly of the State of Colorado has determined it is in the public �r�v`
interest to provide coordinated,quality emergency medical services to the cituens of �'>. -
Coiorado and legislation was adopted mandating a statewide uauma system that requires •
aIl areas in the state to plan and implement a response to medical emergencies that �
._, provides coordinated treatment,communication,transport and documentarion m i;,,
emergency situations; f '

2. The putpose of this mandate is to create standards that must be met m order to ��'
properly provide appropriate effective trauma care to patients so as to prevent premature � '��x
mortality and reduce morbidity overall; �

_ 3. Cities and/or counqes have been called to join together to form trauma regions in an 'i
, effort to TM+aX+Mi�P resources and m;n;m��e barriers to trauma caze pursuant to CRS 25-
� ' 3.�-704(2xc)on or before July 1,199'7; �

, 4. The designated trauma regions are required to establish area trauma advisory councils
, (ATACs)which shall act as the area's representative body for providing recommendations
to the State Trauma Council and Board of County Commissioners conceming trauma plan
_ development and implementarion in that area;
, 5. The ATAC membership proposed meets the requirements of the CRS 25-3.5-704(2)
- (�)(1)(a).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of ,�

A.The local trauma region for the Roaring Fork Valley includes Pitldn Couaty,and �
! portions of Eagle County in our geograplric azea,excluding Redstone.
B.The Roaring Fork Valley Area Trauma Advisory Council will consist ofthe followmg �
representatives,appoiated by the Boazd of County Commissioners with mitial appointment �
as indicated,to serve for a leagth of term to be designated by the RFV ATAC:
