that a code amendment be initiated to permit employee dwelling units as a special review use in '.
' the AR-1 Zone District where they aze currently a prohibited use. `. "
2. The Pitkin County Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed the proposed code amendment i�' .

at their regulazly scheduled meeting on August 19, 1997,and recommended approval of the j�.,
, , amendmenk �;.
� 3. The Board heazd the ro osed amendments at a dut noriced and re ulazl scheduled ublic �,t°

� hearing on October 8,1997 at which time evidence and testimony were presented. � t

' 4. The Board finds that the proposed amendment supports the public interest and is consistentent ,,%

�. with land use policies and the intent of the wne district. !

�� NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED by the Board that it hereby repeals and re-
reenacts Section 3-40.130 of the Land Use Code,AR-1 Accommodations Recreation. -

A. I�t�pi: The AR 1(Accommodations(Recreation)dishict is intended to provide
. a for the renovation and conshvction of new tourist accommodation dwelling units at the base of
downhill skiing areas.
