4, • RECITALS
2. Pursuant to Colorado statute,the Board of County Commissioners conducts `
' hearings on all petitions for tax abatement or refund, at which hearings the Board
reviews and makes a determination on the petition submitted.
� 2. C,R.S. §39-i-113(1.5)provides that the Board of County Commissioners
_ fl may authorize the Counry Assessor to zeview and settle petitions for tax abatement or
� xefund in an amount of$1,000.00 or Iess per tract,parcel, lot of land, or per schedule.
�
3. Tke Board of County Commissioners recognizes that such a delegation of
� authozity would allow the Board to attend to other matters of government, as well as �
expedite the assessment appeal process.

WHEREFORE,be it resolved that the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin
County hereby authorizes and d'uects the County Assessor to review petifions for
abatement in the following manner.
1. The County Assessor shall review all petitions filed for tax abatement oz
- -� refund within six months of the date of filing pursuant to C.R.S. §39-1-113(1.7).
"�� 2. Any such petition for tax abatement or refund in the amount of$1,000.00
or less per tract, parcel, lot of land or schedule, may be setded by written mutual
, agreement between the taxpayer and the County Assessor.

� 3. The County Assessor shall order the abatement of taxes pro rata for all
� levies applicable to such property or shall order the refund of all taxes pro rata by a11
� taxuig jurisdictions receiving payment thereof.

4. No hearing shall be required foz any abatement or refund agreed upon and �
# settled by the County Assessor and the taxpayer. ; �,4,.,�;r
