1. It has been the Board of County Commissioners' historic policy to manage.the ;
Owl Creek Corridor in a manner which retains as much of the rural character of the comdor `
as possible. ,
y,, � 2. The Board finds that the decision of the Snowmass Village Town Council to .
eliminate public parking from the proposed Fast Village Portai is consistent with the Board's ;
� and is an historic and admirable act of political courage.
• NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
r� Pitkin County that:
; 1. In recognition of the action of the Snowmass Village Town Council,the Board .
i hereby directs County staff to work with the residents of the Owl Creek Corridor to prepaze
' conceptual engineering plans for conversion of the Owl Creek corridor to a mass transit way
and local traffic corridor capable of safely accommodating local traffic.
2. The Boazd will execute fmal bid documents and approve the transit way
construcuon in time for the first full construction season following enactrnent by the Town of
S Snowmass Village of an ordinance permanenfly eluninating public parking in the proposed East
Village portal area.
