1. Parapente Aspen (hereinafter "App2icant") has applied
to the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County,
�
. - Colorado (hereinafter "Board") for approval o£ a Temporary Use '
�
Permit to hold a paragliding competition and recreational
� "fly-in" from August 27 through September 5, 1994. ,
2. Section 3-1903 oP the Land Use Code requires that the �.
� `f : Board determine that the request for a permit is necessary to _
�
hold the public event or celebration and that adequate
provision has been made for police supervision, area
maintenance, insurance and public parking. •
3. The Board considered the Applicant's request to hold a
benefit at a public meeting on August 16, 1994 at which time
the Board found that the Applicant's request meets the
requirements of the Land Use Code.

2. The Applicant shall post a $10,000 bond and indemnification
for the event, to the satisfaction of the County Attorney,
prior to the event.
• -I 3. The Applicant shall submit a written safety and operations �
plan to the Pitkin County Sheriffs office for approval, prior
� : � to the event.
� 4. The Applicant shall provide documentation of insurance for the �
event to tha County Risk Manager for approval, prior to the
" event.

5. The Applicant shall remove the temporary fencing by 5:00 P.M.
September 6, 1994. '
� 6. The temporary use permit is being issued to Parapente Aspen
for the US/Open National Paragliding Championships and Aspen
Fly-in. The designated launch areas are Walshes Run and
Ruthies Run on Aspen Mountain. The designated landing sites
are the Northstar Preserve and the Marolt Property. The
temporary use permit is valid from August 27 through September ,
5, 1994 and may not exceed 90 hours in duration. °
� � '..'- 7. The Applicant shall contact the County Deputy Director of �
Public Works (Tom Newland) to develop and sign a Temporary
Agreement ta Use County Property, prior to the event.
