� FOR CONTINUED PARTICIPATION IN
� AN EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SERVtCE
� AUTHQRITY

WHEREAS, the Aspen-Pitkin County Emergency Telephone Service Authoriry has
: �`;� ` provided quality emergency telephone service since September 11, 199i to the
citizens of our counry; and
WHEREAS, it has becorrze necessary to increase the monthly fee charged to telephone
subscribers in order that the Aspen-Pitfcin County Emergency Telephone Service meet
its current and future financial obligations; and
WHEREAS, on May 31, 1990 the Governor of the State of Colorado signed House Bill
90-1�04 which increased the amount of the charge that may be imposed for the
'�, provision of emergency telephone service; and
� WHEREAS, it would serve the public welfare and be in the best interest of the citizens
within this jurisdiction to continue our participation in the organization, administration
and common use of a central Emergency Telephone Senrice A�thority;
� - � NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Pitkin Counry, Colorado, that the Chairman is authorized to execute the revised
Intergovernmental Agreement concerning the continued implementation of an
"Enhanced 9-1-1" emergency telephone service; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Aspen-Pitkin Counry Emergency Telephone
Service Authority is authorized to impose an emergency telephone charge for those
areas within aur jurisdiction for which emergency telephone service will be provided,
� which charge shall be in an amount not to exceed seventy (70) cents per month.
