GY - NIGHT SRIING ON NOVEMBER 25� 1994.

�'�.` RECITALS
1. The Aspen Skiing Company (hereinafter "Applicant") :
operates the Aspen Mountain Ski area and is permitted to
operate under the approved Aspen Mountain Master Plan.
2. The Master Plan does not permit after hours operation of

' � .� the Silver Queen Gondola or night skiing without additional .
approval by the Board of County Commissioners.
3. Section 3-1903 of the Land Use Code allows the Board of
_ f� County Commissioners (hereinafter "Board") to qrant a
� ` temporary use permit for public events or celebrations. -
4. The applicant is requesting approval for the following � '
events:
a. A Little Nell Night Ski on November 25, 1994 from 5:00 '
p.m. to 7:00 p.m. N:,r

b. A 24 hour Ski Race to be held from noon on November 28,

5. The 24 Hour Ski Race, the Little Nell Night Ski and the

Sundeck Dance are fund-raisers for the Sunshzne Kids, the
Aspen Valley Ski Club, the Aspen Junior Hockey Club and the
4'. Aspen Skating Club. The Soard has datermined that the event
meets the requirements of the Land Use Code.
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE ZT RESOLVEb by the Board that it hereby

grants the Aspen Skiing Company a Temporary Use permit subject fo
the following conditions:
1. Fire access to existing structures on site shall remain open
and unobstructed.
2. The Applicant shall contact lodges in the immediate vicinity
of the Mountain base area that may be affected by impacts
associated with the race, such as temporary lighting.

Documentation of notice to the lodges shall be provided at the
meeting.
3. Temporary lighting shall be removed from the premises by
sunset on December 2, 1994. Should inclement weather require
the use of the contingency date (Nov. 30) the lighting shall
be removed by December 3, 1994.
4. The Applicant shall provide proof of insurance for the event,
` to the satisfaction of the County Risk Manager, prior to

- 5. in the event that any sound amplification is anticipated in
" ' connection with broadcasting o£ the event, the Applicant will
be required to obtain a noise variance permit from the
Environmental Health Department prior to commencement of
broadcasting.
6. This temporary use permit is issued to the Aspen Skiing
Company / Land Rover 24 Hours of Aspen for a benefit event to
include Little Nell Night Ski on November 25, 1994 from 5:00
p.m to 7:00 p.m., ^racers only" practice runs from 5:00 to
� 7:30 p.m. on November 27th, 2994, a 24-Hour Ski Race from noon
on November 28, 1994, to noon on November 29, 1994 and a °Hard
Rock On Topn dance held at the Sundeck Restaurant from 8:00
;"t p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on November 28th. The eveht will occur on
Aspen Mountain on runs served by the Gondola.
