�` 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado '}x�`
"� has responsibilities for public safety within Pitkin County; and ,�,,,

`��? 2. The Board of County Commissioners recognizes that it must rely
J� upon other resources to fulfill its obliqation concerning public '
A:� safety; and ;�

`� 3. There exists a group of individuals who represent the agencies `

=;; that provide direat and indirect public safety services to Pitkin �`�'�`:,.
';i County and who desire to assist the Board of County Commissioners
. j� in fulfilling its obligation, and
e3 4. The Board of County Commissioners recognized the establishment
of the Greater Pitkin County Public Safety Council at its meetinq
�� on June 15, 1978 to provide adequate support and recognition for `'
� these individuals; and
_ � 5. At this time, the Pitkin County Puk,lic Safety Council desires
�, to have a mission statement established.

\ ��' NqW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County '��
Commissioners of Pitkin County does hereby sanction the Pitkin
� � County Public Safety Council and empowers the Council to identify
a
' public safety issues and facilitate solutions in Pitkin County. . ,
� This resolution replaces and supersedes Resolution 78-64
- i establishing the Greater Pitkin County Public Safety Council. -

.� BE IT FUI2THER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners �
that Public Safety Council adhere to the following: �'�

! 1. The Pitkin County Public Safety Council will meet with the ��`
i Board of County Commissioners on at least an annual basis to �' `��
� discuss activifies, objectives, and goals. �•� ,

3. The Pitkin County Public Safety Council will identify specific = ��
areas of need in the public safety sphere and will identify `!`
? solutions or make referrals to the appropriate department, agency, '
individual or group, to ensure that the issue is satisfactorily , >�

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners �
will provide the following to the Public Safety Council: (L��
1. Ensure that all legislative or master plan matters that come j,}��.`•��,
before Pitkin County government that affect the ability to provide y`�";;
" effective public safety services are submitted to Public Safety ���� .'
