to dischar e the duties of a Board of E alization. �� ���' "

2. The Soard of Equalization is charged with the ministerial duty '��•``°'� ;
of assuring that the Assessor fairly and equal2y applies `P:�':
appraisal procedures. �;.'' �'

3. The volume o£ appeals reqnires innovative methods or the
hiring of expensive hearing officers. �'

� � 4. The Board recognizes that the County cannot afford the e�tpense f'.Kj,
of a hearing officer.

NoW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
' of Pitkin County, Colorado that:
� 1. The Hearing Officer, acting on behalf of the Board, shall �
qconduct a public hearing and rule upon the appeal. Such '�'
„ rulings shall be ratified by the Board at its next available F.r;+^
� regular meeting on its consent agenda. A Board member can ask ;;�
that any appeal be considered an administrative item by ��
;i requesting fellow Board members to remove it from the consent
i'
agenda.

:; 2. Whenever possible, individual Hoard members will not hear _
appeals from their district, but may vote upon the ruling.
