4 RECITALS
i1. The Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners (hereafter '
� s "BOard") has determined that the Low Impact Subdivision regulation ``4p�
of the Pitkin County Land Use Code, Section 4-6.1, shall expire on S;'�
January 12, 1994, the sunset date for the regulation. . :

2. over time the regulation has been modified to the extent that '�
� �,i�.,,
it no longer meets the needs of the community or the objectives of ..�*�?e
i `"`�i.'� _
� the original intent and legislation.
� 3. The Board feels that it is important to encourage the

fpreservation of open space, agricultural and wildZife lands in the �
� County. � .
__ 4. The Board has directed the Planning Office to work with the
valley land trust organizations to develop a new regulation which 1�
� facilitates the objectives of preserving agricultural, wildlife and

open space lands in the County.
i5. The Board intends to work with the Community to adopt �
' legislation which meets the objectives described above. �
