RECITALS:

� 1. The Pitkin County open Space and Trails Board, on behalf of
4._ the Me er Family Partnership (hereinafter "Applicants") have !

applied to Pitkin County to request the rezoning of a 5.846 acre '.

parael from AF-1 to Public. y
, , 2. The Applicants received approval from the Board of County �

• Commissioners (hereinafter "Board") for a subdivision exemption for
the creation of a community facility pursuant to Resolution No. 93-

� 3. The Pitkin County Open Space and Trails Board proposes to

purchase the parcel to facilitate the maintenance o£ the existing j
�� trail and to provide for further improvements to the public access �

4. The property is located approximately 1/2 mile south of the

Basalt city limits adjacent to SH 82 and the SH 82 Basalt Bypass;

' . , 5. On August 24, 1993 at a regular public meeting, the Planning
,\� and Zoninq Commission of Pitkin County, Colorado (hereinafter
"COmmission") recommended approval of the Meyer Subdivision i`-

�i 6. At the same regular meeting, the Commission also recommended iti:

� that the Board approve the rezoning from AF-1 to Public. -
� I 7. The Commission found the proposed subdivision exemption and �
