DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO WIDEN AND IMPROVE
SOUTH 7TH STREET t

WHERF.AS, in conjunction with the 1973 approval by the Board !
of County Commissioners of the Adams Subdivision a special
; warranty deed from ,7ames S. Adams and Florence P. Adams to Pitkin
- County, dated May 7, 1973, and covering approximately 2939.6
���. square feet of land in the Adams subdivision was prepared; and -
WHEREAS, the unrecorded original of this deed is held by
'"",' Holland & Hart in escrow, pursuant to the subdivision approval
_ '� anc� the plat recorded in compliance therewith, "until such time
���°=� as the County issues a declaration of intention to widen and
:�':� improve 7th Street into this area, at which time the deed will be
"`�� delivered to the County for recording;�� and

-r,3 T�REAS, with the completion of the Marolt pedestrian
bridge last summer non-motorized vehicular and pedestrian traffic
- ::�: at the intersection of South 7th Street and Hopkins Avenue has
� increased creating potential conflicts between pedestrians and
':��l��i; motorized vehicles; and
.:�:;`�
� .;c WE�REAS, site distances at the above-referenced intersection
_;; have been limited by the growth of trees and the recent
` -*� construction of a wood fence on the east side of South 7th
,:�.� Street; and

���","� WfiEREAS, in response to the problems referred to above the
•__,'�i Board of County Commissioners desires to improve 7th Street and
'°::s requires the use of the lands that are the subject of the above-
;� referenced deed held in escrow.

=.-=� NOW Tf�.REFORE BB IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, that it does hereby
+.�.�� declare its intention to widen and improve 7th Street extended so � �
-_-`� as to require use of this land for such riqht-of-way, such lands
y being more fully described in a special warranty deed from James
,':� S. Adams and Florence P. Adams to Pitkin County or its nominee '
- °1 dated May 7, 1973, covering 2939.6 square feet in the Adams �
� subdivision, which deed is held in escrow by the law firm of
� Holland & Hart. Accordingly the Board requests the release to it ,;,�
