OF PITKIN COUNTY, COIARADO
COMMENDING ROBERT S. ANDERSON, JR. �
AND THANKING HIM FOR HI5 SERVICES �"'

WHEREAS, The Pitkin County Commissioners and the Aspen City '
_::� Council, pursuant to the authority accorded them by statute and

the stated desire of the citizens of Aspen and Pitkin County to
�� pursue all opportunities for consolidation of City and County t ,.
� ,
��'`. governmentaZ functions, did mutually enter into an Agreement on '
�'� �'
'�`=�`' August 10, 1988, establishing Robert S. Anderson Jr. �'
��'�=� (hereinafter, "Bob Anderson") as Joint City-County Manager, and,
- ;:nF� WHEREAS, the Pitkin County Commissioners have now determined that �
it is in the best interests of the County to terminate that
'-'" Agreement effective January 11; 1989 and to reestablish the
';}� postition of County Manager as of that date, and,
�`_� WHEREAS, since assutaing the post of Joint City-County Manager on
�' � August 10, 1987, Bob Anderson has devoted a substantial amount of '
time and effort to managing County s�aff, issues, projects and �

- meetings, and, �

WHEREAS, that time and effort has resulted in substantial y" .,,

'~''gi improvements in the levels of cooperation and communication ;j
� between City and County staff and elected officials, and, ; .,.
WHEREAS, that time and effort has also resulted in substantial �� :t,.�
' �� progress on a number of important County projects and concerns � � �j�

including the provision of appropriate office space for City and rw".

County employees, partial consolidation of Fleet Management and �.`i��.J:

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson has provided supportive and readily-
available coaching in management techniques and methods not
i previously available to County staff, and
; WHEREAS, Bob Anderson has maintained an attitude of E

sensitivity to the needs of employees and the public, and loyalty ''
