'�' WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners oE Pitkin �

- County, Colorado, acting as owner and operator of.the Aspen/Pit-
kin County Airport (Sardy Field), wishes to amend the present

Airport Rules and Regulations affecting the cuxfew for general
�T aviation operations; and
_ - WHEREAS, the Hoard declares the circumstances 1

supporting thie action to be as follows: (1) that ground and air
traffic congestion in the evening hours on Fridays, Saturdays and ; �

Sundays, and during certain holiday related dates during the high „

"� traffic ski season (which commence with Thanksgiving weekend and

-� ends in the third week of April) appears to he an Airport ;: ..,

..'� management problem witti safety and unnecessary fuel-consumption

- implications; (2) that an extended curfew for general aviation �

operations will, according to the best technical advice 7 ;:;

� NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY �
COMMISSIONERS OF PITRIN COUNTY, COIARAbO, as follows; I

Section 1. `
This Resolution of Amendment shall relate to genera2 aviation �

operations only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and certain �:";'

� designated holiday periods and shall take effect immediately upon

,�� adoption. � .

Section 2.
� Article 32 of the Airport Regulations jPitkin County Code, Title
= IV), is hereby amended by the addition of Section 32-2.1.2, which
;:�:.
shall read as follows:
- "Section 32.2.1.2. Notwithstanding anything to the
;� contrary contained in Sections 2-18, 32-1,
�_� 32-2 .1 or 32-2.1.1 of the Airport
Regulations, the followiag shall govern �
general aviation operations at the airport
during the period each year from the �
i;:� Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving to the third `i
`"� sunday in April. `'
A. No general aviation aircra£t shall be �
"7 permitted to arrive at Sardy Field later than -
- thirty (30j minutes after sunset daily. `

- B. General aviation aircraft sha12 be permitted to Z��' ,
depart from Sardy Field up to two hours past curfew as i? '

i E. For purposes of this Section, "General Aviation"
shall be defined to mean: All aircraft flight opera-
:. tions (aircraft arrivals and departures), except the
� operations of scheduled Certificated Air Carriers and
f aircraft operated by the United States of America.
