AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF PITKIN COUNTY, COIARADO, APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE
REMAINING TWO YEARS OF A LEASE AND A TWO-YEAR EXTENSION OF SAID
LEASE WITH ASPEN BASE OPERATION, A COIARADO GENERAL PARTNERSHIP,
FOR THE PROVISION OF FULL-SERVICE FIXED-BASE '
OPERATOR SERVICES AT THE ASPEN/PITKIN COUNTY AIRPORT .
AND REQ(3IRING A COPY OF THE AMENDED LEASE .
TO BE AVAILABLE FOR PUSLIC INSPECTION IN THE OFFICE OF
THE DIRECTOR OF AVIA7.'ION AT THE AIRPORT

WHEREAS, Pitkin County, a Colorado home-rule county, is the , ';`
owner, sponsor and operator of the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport ��`'`� ,
(Sardy Field), located in the vicinity of Aspen, Colorado, and ';;';•;: _ .

has the authority to regulate commercial activities and to �

license space at the Airport, pursuant to, inter alia, 1973 =E;,� ? .
C.R.S. 41-4-101 et sev., Title IV of the Pitkin County Code,
Section 8.7 of the Pitkin County Home Rule Charter and 1973
C.R.S. 30-35-202; and
� WFIEREAS, the County conducted a competitive selection
process in 1984 to select a full-service fixed-base operator at r

the Airport and the top-ranked proposer, Aspen Base operation, ��
and the County entered into a five-year lease agreement; and
WHEREAS, since the execution of that agreement, changed
circumstances (including unforseen litigation arising from the
selection process and unforseen difficulty in the orderly
planning and developmenC of the general aviation side of the

-. agreement, including a two-year extension thereof;

Section 1
That the Amended Lease and Use Agreement between Pitkin
County and Aspen Base Operation, which is attached as Exhibit "A"
and incorporated herein by this reference, is hereby approved and
accepted according to its terms and conditions.

Agreement (Exhibit "A") shall be kept available for public '�
inspection during normal business hours prior to the public
hearing thereon at the office of the Director of Aviation,
Aspen/Pitkin County Airport, 20292 West Highway 82, Aspen,
Colorado 81611 (303-925-8698).

That a public hearing on this Ordinance shall be held at
7:30 pm, or as soon thereafter as the conduct of business will ' �
