AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSZONERS
OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO, APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE
REMAINING TWO YEARS OF A LEASE (INCLUDING
AN OPTION FOR A TWO-YEAR EXTENSION OF SAID LEASE),
WITH TAILWINDS AVIATION, A RTCHMOR AVIATZON COMPANY,
FOR THE PROVISION OF LIMITED-SERVICE FIXED-BASE
OPERATOR SERVICES AT THE ASPEN/PITKIN COUNTY AIRPORT .
AND REQUIRING A COPY OF THE AMENDED LEASE
TO BE AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION IN THE OFFTCE OF
THE AIRPORT MANAGER AT THE AIRPORT �� ��""'.' -

� WHEREAS, Pitkin County, a Colorado home-rule county, is the �
owner, sponsor and operator of the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport
(Sardy Field), located in the vicinity of Aspen, Colorado, and ��

has the authority to regulate commercial activi.ties and to '�'
,.}.. ,-
license space at the Airport, pursuant to, inter alia, 1973 ��. �
C.R.S. 41-4-101 et secr•, Title IV of the Pitkin County Code,
Section 8,7 of the Pitkin County Home Rule Charter and 1973
' , C.R.S. 30-35-202; and
WHEREAS, the County, in 1984, and Tailwinds Aviation
�
(predecessor to Tailwinds Aviation, a Richmor Aviation company), � � �
entered into a five-year lease agreement; and
WHEREAS, since the execution of that agreement, changed
i .
circumstances (including unforseen difficulty in the orderly �
planning and development of the general aviation side of the
Airport and amendments to the lease of the full-service fixed-
_ base operator) have caused this Board to consider changes to that _;;
agreement, including an option for a two-year extension thereof;

Section 1
That the Amended Lease and Use Agreement between Pitkin
County and Tailwinds Aviation, a Richmor Aviation company, whiCh
is attached as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this .
reference, is hereby approved and accepted according to its terms �
and conditions. �:�::�=�--

Commissioners is hereby authorized and directed to execute the
subject Agreement on behalf of the County and any other documents ��•
necessary to accomplish the transaction that have been approved -,�

Section 3
That a true and correct copy of the Amended Lease and Use -
_ Agreement (Exhibit "A") shall be kept available for public
inspection prior to the public hearing thereon during normal •

business hours at the Office of the Airport Manager, Aspen/Pitkin i `� '

County Airport, 0233 Airport Road, East Concourse, Suite A,
Aspen, Colorado, 81611 (303-925-8698).
Section 4 "
� That a public hearing on this Ordinance shall be held at
7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the conduct of business will
allow, on January 12, 1988, in the Pitkin_County Courthouse, �
