A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF '
COUNTY COMMTSSIONERS OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO,
n SETTING FORTH 1991 GOALS FOR PITKIN COUNTY
Resolution # 91-� . .,
WHEREAS, it is the goal of the Pitkin Gounty Commissioners _
to direct their efforts to the preservation and development of r
those community qualities and assets that have defined Pitkin
County as a unique and vibrant community; and �;;:{�.-�• •
WHEREAS, this includes the ecological treatment of our
natural resources and the humane treatment of our human
resources.
WHEREAS, we believe that it is essential to this effort to
have a valley wide approach to our activities that attempts to
create communities of choice within ttle valley and to preserve
•�; the divergent character of these cammunities; and
'=� WHEREAS, to provi@e choices o£ community, oitizens must have
° � housing and transportation available to them;
, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMZSSIONERS OF PITKIN COUNTY, COZARADO IT IS TO THAT END THAT
;�>� WE COMMIT OUR EFFORTS TO THE FOLLOWING GOALS IN 1991:
1. Develop a transportation plan for Pitkin County.
�� ; 2. Produce a more efficient Land Use Code by completing the
. '� Code revisions, reviewing Board Code policies and revising
- 1041 regulations to be clear, proactive and protective.
�;J� 3. Create a management plan that addresses access to and
� � activities within public lands, including the Hunter Creek
�,;..i and Conundrum valleys.
c''�� 4. xmplement Pitkin County's portion of the long range
community housing program.
5. Define the County's position with EPA and articulate a
comprehensive position for the FAA and the Airport, with .
emphasis on minimizing federaZ influence on local issues.
- 6. Articuiate and dePine a growth management philosophy and
policy statement.
7. Support and encourage the development and maintenance of
existing and future environmental policies and projects
' ': s throughout Pitkin County, including but not limited to:
