FIRST READ - ORDINANCE AMENDING DISTRICT BOIINDARIE3 FOR PZTKIN , COUNTY - MOTION TO APPROVE - PA88BD IJNANIMOUSLY - Cindy Houben :a summarized this as an ordinance to revise the district boundaries pursuant to C,R.S. Section 30-10-306. According to the 1990 census • j information, Pitkin County has a total number of 12,661 residents. ' - "'i Ideally, each of the five Commissi.�ner Districts would contain :.� 2,532 residents.s � ,# � i In 1980, the census information was based on enumeration districts. "� In 1940, the enumeration districts were eliminated and Slock Number �:' Areas (BNA) were established. Population information is now provided by voter precincts and Block Number Areas. In Pitkin ' ,r County the precinct boundaries and the Commissioner district i boundaries are not the same.
