� SETTING FORTH 1992 GOALS FOR PITKIN COUNTY

_. WHEREAS, it is the goal of the Pitkin County Commissioners to i ':
_ direct their efforts to the preservation and development of those �'
community qualities and assets that have definea Pitkin County as ;; `
a unique and vibrant aommunity; and

' WHEREAS, this includes the ecological treatment of our
' �5 - natural resources atsd the humane treatment of our human resources.
'�-= WHEREAS, we believe that it is essential to this effort to
have a valley wide approach to our activities that attempts to
,�: create communities of choice within the valley and to preserve the j
�`' divergent and local character of these commuhities; and �

WIiEREAS, to provide choices of community, citizens of Pitkin � ;.
� - County and of the Valley must have affordable housing and
accessible transportation available to them; �
�;x.� ' NOW, THEREFORE, SE IT RESOLVED BX THE BOARD OF COUNTY
�''°;� COMMISSIONERS OF PITKIN COUNTY, COIARADO IT IS TO THAT END THAT WE
COMMIT OUR EFFORTS TO THE FOLLOWZNG GOALS IN 2992:

,� 1. Develop a transportation plan for Pitkin County in cooperation
- and coordination with jurisdictions and to assist in �
development of a Snowmass to Aspen Transportation plan in 1992
and a valley wide Transportation Plan in 1993.
_` �� -> 2. Complete in 1992 a more efficient Lan8 Use Code.

� �;� 3. Create a policy for service delivery and development =
activities in rural and remote areas of the County.

__ '� ` � 4. Implement Pitkin County's portion of the long range community
„�'. housing proqram.
�"' �;� 5. Work with the City, Smuggler Caucus, Technical Advisory .
Committee and EPA to determine and define the health risk to
6 �° residents of the EPA superfund site. �

��,,,,' 6. Articulate and define a growth management philosophy and ?

� 7. Maintain the historic safe operating hours at Sardy Field.

existing and futuze environmental policies and projects
