3. These amendments affect certain definitions presented in

4. The Soard finds that these amendments to Section 1.1 and 2.8
,=3 , preserve the original intent of the Home Rule Charter and
serve the best interest of Pitkin County to eliminate these
�'` conflicts and ambiguities; :-
� ;-� 5. Section 8.1.1 of the Home Rule Charter states that action to
amend the charter may be initiated by a "resolution adopted
� by the Hoard of County Commissioners submitting the proposed
amendment to the qualified electors";
�a'?F � 6. Section 8.1.5 of the charter provides that ^if a majority of ��
�j the registered qualified electors voting thereon vote for a
, '"'^ ` proposed amendment, the amendment shall be deemed approved";
� .?1'` NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF PITKIN CoUNTY, COLORADO, that the following question shall be
placed on the ballot for the primary election to be held on August -
� 11, 1992:
