has determined that Lot 2 of the Weaver Subdivision, also known as Y,•

the eastern 12,000 square feet of the Pioneer Park Estate has

!y ' � significatn open space, recreational and historic value, and �� )?�

WHEREAS the Aspen Historic Trust, in cooperation with the residents
of the Pioneer Park neighborhood, the City of Aspen, the owners of ��

the Weaver Subdivision, and various foundations and charitable

institutions, has undertaken a fundraising effort to purchase Lot �
�•�
' 2 of the Weaver Subdivision, and
� ��''1 WHEREAS that effort has yielded pledges of $391,050 including a

``^-'��' $75,000 pledge from the City of Aspen contingent on a pledge of a

z� like or greater amount from Pitkin County, and -

;� WSEREAS there is a July 31, 1992 deadline on fundraising, and

�`�'�i WHERBAS all monies pledged will not be payable until closing, or,

;;'� if used as an earnest money deposit, will be fully refundable if . ,
, � the purchase is not finalized, and �
WHEREAS all parties to the purchase have been advised of the i�
restrictions to the use of Open Space and Trails Program funds and
the restrictions on the management and disposal of properties

purchased with those funds and have expressed their willingness to 4:
