RECITALS
1. Existing County policy is to operate the landfill as an enterprise fund,
balancing the environmental goals of recycling and resource recovery with the " �
true cost of landfill operations; �
2. Seciion 30-20-115 C.R.S. 1973, as amended, authorizes counties to
finance the operation costs of the Pitkin County Solid Waste Center by user
service fees;
3. The curreni user fees at the Solid Waste Center which became effective
February 1,1994,will not adequately cover the increased cost ot landfilling as
a result of new regulations "Regulations Pertaining To Solid Waste Dispasal
' Sites and Facilities 6 CCR 1007-2."
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Pitkin County,Colorado that maximum user fees as described within Schedule A shall
be adopted with the understanding that the cost of disposal of the various categories E
of waste proposed in Schedule A may be readjusted within this price range after
- further approvai by the Board of County Commissioners and this maximum user fee
shall become effective February 1, 1996.
