THE GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM(�IS)MAPS � �
AS THE OFFICIAL ZONE DISTRICT MAPS

RECITALS �
1. The Community Development Deparrinent has created new zone district
maps with flze City/County GIS thafi replaces the old blueline version of the
' zoning maps that were adopted in 1982. A Cocxnty zoning coverage has been
- created on the GIS and therefore the data is availaUle in paper and digital
formats.
2. The Community Development Department has created a five map series
to illustrate County Zoning. T'l�ese inaps are:
� a) 1"=5,000'Pitkin County Overview Map
b) 1"=1,500'Crystal River Corridor Map and Redstone Insert
c) 1"=1,d00'Roaring Fork Valley Metro Area Map
d) 1"=1,400'Lower Roaring Fork Valley Map
; e} 1"=6Q0'Frying Pan Valley Map
3. The Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed the five map series at a
regular meeting on November 12,1996 and forwarded a recommendation of
approval to the Board of County Commissioners(hereafter"Board").
4. The Board considered the request at a duly noticed puUlic hearing on
December 4,1996 and second rnading on December 18,1496.
