The Board of County Commissions (BOCC) adopted Governance Policies by Resolution 35- 2012 on March 28, 2012. 2. Pitkin County operates a TV/FM radio translator system on eight sites throughout the County. 3. The purpose of the translator sites is to operate a TV and FM radio broadcast system to serve the best interest of Pitkin County residents for their viewing and listening pleasure. In addition, the system serves as an emergency communication tool through radio broadcast for the national Emergency Alert System ( EAS) and the National Weather Emergency Broadcast System. 4. Policy 2. 17, FM Radio Allotments on Pitkin County s Translator acted as a guide for the Translator Advisory Board to allocate allotments on the sites based on how to best serve the interests of the citizens of Pitkin County. 5. Policy 2. 18, TV Allotments on Pitkin County' s Translator System acted as a guide for the Translator Advisory Board to allocate allotments on the sites based on how to best serve the interests of the citizens of Pitkin County. 6. The Board of County Commissioners has been advised that the BOCC is the sole authority on translator site allocations, not the TAB. The BOCC however, will take recommendations from the TAB on allocations based on written policies established by the TAB. 7. The BOCC now desires to repeal Policies 2.17 and 2.18, and will continue to accept recommendations from the TAB regarding approval of allotments. The sole authority for approval of allotments will rest with the BOCC. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO that Governance Policies 2.17 through 2.18 are hereby repealed.
