WORK SESSION ITEM: Update on Non-Profit Funding Sub-Committee, Jon Peacock
Staff described the process being undertaken in reviewing the City's participation in funding Community non-
profits.
STAFF DIRECTION: None-informational only
WORK SESSION ITEM: Galena Plaza Discussion, Jodi Smith
Jodi Smith described the City of Aspen's redevelopment of Galena Plaza. She reviewed the parking
assumptions in the redevelopment for City and County public safety vehicles and the options staff have
developed. Joe DiSalvo described the mixed use activities in the area and the response time criteria used to
create the options. Discussion followed. Kathy Chandler discussed the Library's recent correspondence to the
City regarding maintaining its right to the 44 foot easement.
STAFF DIRECTION: The Board was not supportive of law enforcement vehicle parking in•front of the
courthouse. They were supportive of parking continuing on the west side of the courthouse.

1. Prep for Joint Meeting with Healthy Rivers and Streams on March 12: Jon Peacock discussed the
number of agenda items needing additiona] time.
2. Jon stated the March 26 abatement hearings have been moved to the morning and a briefing is being
scheduled on CCRC.

WORK SESSION ITEM: Open Discussion
1. Jon Peacock discussed the bid for the pedestrian crossing project at the Airport. Brian Pettet explained
the project is currently underfunded by over$2M. He reviewed options for delaying some capital
projects to create a funding arrangement for County and EOTC equally funding the overage. Brian
• explai�ed the error in the estimate that is the main portion of the overage along with design changes that
contributed to the cost. Discussion ensued. The Board was in favor oFproviding additional funding to
moving the project forward and it will be presented to the EOTC on Thursday.
2. Jon Peacock announced Basalt was selected to host exchange Managers. The County and Snowmass
will also take time to host the visitors.
3. Jon stated he will be presenting on the history of Aspen tonight for the Historical Society.
