The Contract for/Provision of Services; Library Expansion Architectural Services dated October 30, 2013 between the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, (the "County") and Snowdon and Hopkins Architects, P.C. (the "Contractor"), is hereby amended as follows: Description of Change: The original contract included only an estimated cost for Design Development until further design work was completed, and it stipulated that the costs for consultants were not included in the fee. Therefore a fee of$150,000 is now being added to the Design Development Phase for consultants, and a fee Of $250,000 is included for the Construction Document Phase which includes the costs for additional consultants as well as architectural fees. Reason for Change: The following items are reasons for these changes: The proposal for lowering the twin tees of the Rio Grande parking garage roof caused down time for the design team while ten weeks were spent working through the City of Aspen's processes. Gearing up again after this delay, personnel changes, additional consultants and information coming into the design process all caused additional time to be spent on the Schematic Design. Additional time was spent on the revised garage drawings, with many more meetings than expected to explain the revised parking plans during demolition and construction, and to assure that the proposed structural work was good. The structural engineer had several additional meetings as well as designing into CD's sizing for design of the garage roof replacement and estimating. The structural engineers were involved more than ever expected for additional design and presentations. The City's schedule for the new Plaza work caused the library design team to break their design effort into 2 phases, the addition and the renovation, so that.the team could meet the Plaza demolition schedule. The City's Building Department requested that the addition submittal be separated into two submittals which is taking more time. • The Land Use Proposal required more drawings, meetings, and time than originally anticipated. Rev 12/27/10js Project Coding 16663-92863-86200 Original Contract# 93-2013 A commissioning agent was added to the team in September resulting in additional fees that will be recovered through energy savings within the first 4 years of operation. Finally, the CORE grant applications and meetings held with potential donors were not anticipated in September 2013. Original Contract Price $ 270,600.00 Net Increase/Decrease in Contract Price (this change order) $'400,000.00 *Total Adjusted Contract Price(including this change order) $ 670,600.00 This change order extends the time to complete work to March 31, 2016. In all other respects the Agreement is in full force and effect and remains unchanged by this Amendment. rI , • '7l `Z .CJ, /et" Co- J%C( i '' / Dai P o urement Officer' ate LY KJi“-La< (.. —)0/9 County Manager Date *Increases over$25,000 and/or 10% (single increase or accumulative) of original contract must have County Manager signature. 2
