COUNTY REPRESENTATIVE TO THE CENTRAL MOUNTAIN REGIONAL
EMERGENCY TRAUMA ADVISORY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION NO. Qf�- 2015
RECITALS
I. The General Assembly of the State of Colorado enacted the Colorado Trauma Care
System Act ("Act"), Section 25-3.5-701, et seq., C.R.S to ensure the availability and coordination
of resources necessary to provide essential trauma care as part of a statewide system.
2. The Act mandates that the Colorado State Board of Health adopt rules specifying the
governing body of each county or city and county throughout the state shall establish a regional
emergency medical and trauma advisory council (herein "RETAC") with the governing body of
four or more other counties, or with the governing body of a city and county, to form a
multicounty RETAC.
3. Pitkin County is a member of the Central Mountains Regional Emergency and Trauma
Advisory Council (CMRETAC) consisting of Pitkin, Eagle, Lake, Park, Chaffee and Summit
Counties.
4. The Board recognizes that appropriate care for persons experiencing medical emergency
or trauma injury is advisable and values the contributions of the local Emergency Medical and
Trauma Advisory Council (EMTAC) to the County.
5. The EMTAC members have the experience and expertise to effectively represent Pitkin
County's interests at the RETAC.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin
County, Colorado, that the Chair of the Pitkin County Emergency Medical and Trauma Advisory
Council as the Pitkin County Representative to the Central Mountain Regional Emergency
Trauma Advisory Council
