PROVIDING SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS TO THE
2015 SOLID WASTE CENTER BUDGET FOR LANDFILL OPERATIONS

RECITALS
WHEREAS,
1) The Board of County Commissioners at their May 12, 2015 work session directed staff to
proceed with plans to assume landfill operations in-house, including the filling and compaction
of waste and the grinding of construction and demolition debris; and
2) The County intends to be fully staffed, have all the necessary equipment in place, and be
fully trained on equipment and operations before work begins in February 2016; and
3) Upon due and proper notice, published in accordance with the law, said supplemental
budget was open for inspection by the public at a designated place, a public hearing was held
on June 10, 2015, and interested citizens were given an opportunity to file or register any
objections to said supplemental budget.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin
County, Colorado that the following increases to the 2015 Solid Waste Center budget are
