APPROVING THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND
ENVIRONMENT CONSUMER PROTECTION CONTRACT AMENDMENT #3

Recitals
WHEREAS, Pitkin County and The State of Colorado, acting through its Department of
Public Health and Environment, are duly constituted governmental entities; and
WHEREAS, Pitkin County and the City of Aspen have agreed to a combined consumer
protection contract with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment as
part of the Intergovernmental Agreement for Provision of Public and Environmental
Health Services; and
WHEREAS, Pitkin County and the City of Aspen desire to continue to provide services
described in Contract Amendment #3, including, but not limited to inspections of retail
food establishments, schools, child care centers, and summer camps, inspections of
mobile home parks, campgrounds, motels or hotels after a complaint is received, and
timely response to environmental health emergencies, and to perform these services,
through June 30, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the State desires to pay a sum not to exceed $20,000; and
WHEREAS, the Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners and the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment are authorized to execute the Contract
Amendment on behalf of the respective parties; and
WHEREAS, both parties have determined that it is in the best interests of the citizens of
Pitkin County and the City of Aspen that they enter into the Contract Amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Pitkin County Board of County
Commissioners that it does hereby authorize the Chair to execute the attached Contract
Amendment #3.
