COUNTY, COLORADO, APPROVING A MINOR AMENDMENT TO A DEVELOPMENT
PERMIT FOR THE AIRPORT SOUTH INTERCEPT PARKING LOT
Resolution No. 99- / 9 7
RECITALS
1. The Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado ("BOCC") proposes to amend
condition 47 of Resolution No. 94-130, which prohibits use of the Airport South Intercept Parking Lot for
"overnight truck, auto or material storage or other uses not directly associated with an intercept parking
facility."
2. The Applicant proposes to allow Air Wisconsin to park buses in the lot overnight to accommodate
ground transportation when airplanes are unable to fly due to weather considerations.
3. The parking lot is located on a 6 acre site adjacent to Highway 82, directly across from the south
entrance into the Aspen Airport Business Center.
4. The property is zoned Public (PUB).
5. The BOCC considered this request at a regular meeting on December 15, 1999.
6. The BOCC finds that the proposed amendment is necessary for Air Wisconsin to operate
effectively and to offer a transportation alternative for travelers when the weather does not permit
airplanes to fly.
THE BOCC DOES HEREBY AMEND Condition No. 7 of BOCC Resolution No. 94-130 as
follows:
The intercept parking lot shall be prohibited from use for special events, temporary commercial
activities, overnight truck, auto or material storage or other uses not directly associated with an
intercept parking facility. Overnight parking of buses operated by the airlines for the purpose of
providing ground transportation for travelers when the weather does not permit airplanes to fly
shall be allowed.
All other conditions of Resolution No. 94-130 shall remain in full force and effect.
