GENERAL NOTES:
1. All materials, installation practices, setback
requirements, etc., shall comply with the Pitkin County
Individual Sewage Disposal System Regulations.
J. Stone shall be 3/4" to 2-1/2` screened rock.
4. Piping to system shall be standard solid wall sewer pipe,
ASTM 3034 -Slope at minimum 1/4"/ft.
5. the area disturbed by construction shalt be reseeded with
native grosses to prevent erosion.
6. Use risers as needed to bring septic tank access hatch
within 6" of finished grade.
7. Cast iron pipe of equal strength or other pipe properly
supported to prevent failure by settling shall extend
from tank for a dislbnce of at !east five feet (5) from
the inlet and outlet ends.
8. The following preventative maintenance schedule is
recommended to prolong the life of the system:
a) Pump septic tanks at least once o year.
b) Check plumbing fixtures on a regular basis and repair
al/ leaks which can add substantial amounts of water
to the system.
10. The Contractor and Owner shall take whatever measures
ore necessary to assure that c) the septic tank and
sewer lines ore completely water tight to prevent
infiltration of groundwater into the system, and
b) the system is installed to prevent freezing of
gravity sewer lines.
11. The Pitkin County Environmental Health Deportment and
the Engineer shall be notified when construction
commences and kept abreast of the construction progress
so that sufficient inspection can be performed to assure
conformance with these plans. Provide a minimum of 48
hours notice to each.
12. If expected water usage varies from design
assumption used to calculate flow, contact
engineer prior to installation.

recommended to prolong the life of the system:
a) Pump septic tanks at least once o year.
b) Check plumbing fixtures on a regular basis and repair
al/ leaks which can add substantial amounts of water
to the system.
10. The Contractor and Owner shall take whatever measures
ore necessary to assure that c) the septic tank and
sewer lines ore completely water tight to prevent
infiltration of groundwater into the system, and
b) the system is installed to prevent freezing of
gravity sewer lines.
11. The Pitkin County Environmental Health Deportment and
the Engineer shall be notified when construction
commences and kept abreast of the construction progress
so that sufficient inspection can be performed to assure
conformance with these plans. Provide a minimum of 48
hours notice to each.
12. If expected water usage varies from design
assumption used to calculate flow, contact
engineer prior to installation.
