The design is intended to meet the requirements of the Pitkin County Environmental Health Department, and the Pitkin County Individual Sewage Disposal Require- ments effective March 25, 1974. Percolation Tests single family residence is It is anticipated that the automatic clothes washer and Percolation test results by Pitkin County Environ- mental Health Department personnel indicated a very slow percolation rate of 173 minutes/inch on the site: This rate is far too slow for a conventional absorption field. Inspection Hole An 8 foot deep inspection hole had previously been dug on the site. The hole revealed a uniform soil throughout its depth, consisting of cobbles in a clay - type soil. Pat Carey July 26, 1974 Page Two Evapotranspiration System The proposed sewage disposal system design consists of a conbined evapotranspiration and infiltration bed in accordance with paragraph 6.05 of the Pitkin County Individual Sewage Disposal Regulations. The calculations for sizing of the bed are shown on the attached page. The required system consists of 2 beds, 16' x 85' each, for a total area of 2,270 square feet. A standard detail sheet showing typical items of construction is included with this report. Also included is a Site Plan for Lot 6, showing the specific layout for this particular system. Details on the Site Plan take precedence over those on the standard detail sheet. Aerated Sewage Treatment Unit An aerated sewage treatment unit is specified for use with this system. Specifications for a residential aerobic wastewater treatment system are included at the end of this report.
