Septic permit approved per compliance with the engineer design and specifications dated October 31, 2004. Any
changes must be approved by this department and the design engineer rior to them being made. This system
was installed without a permit.
Minimum horizontal distances between components of the system and physical features shall conform to the Pitkin
County ISDS regulations. During the initial site investigation, water was present at the bottom of the profile hole (8
feet). There was significant rain and snow in the days preceding the site visit.
This design calls for one 1500 gallon two compartment tank with an effluent filter on the outlet. A distribution box
will distribute the effluent to four trenches. It appears the trenches were installed outside of the building
envelope. Sign off from Snowmass Village Building dept must be obtained. Standard Infiltrators were used,
each row having 13 chambers. There must be 6 feet of undisturbed soil between each trench.
This department does not endorse any brand of products. This permit must be kept on-site during installation.
The engineer must do a final inspection of the installation and submit an as -built letter to this department. This
department must also be called for an inspection with a minimum of 48 hours advanced notice.

Septic permit approved per compliance with the engineer design and specifications dated October 15, 2004. Any
changes must be approved by this department and the design engineerrp for to them being made.
Minimum horizontal distances between components of the system and physical features shall conform to the Pitkin

buried more than 4 feet because of the presence of groundwater at 8 feet.
This design calls for one 1000 gallon two compartment tank with an effluent filter on the outlet. A distribution box

have re -issued the permit for pdottola. I voided permit #04087 and reissued the permit under #04093.
However, this expanded system was installed prior to permitting. There are several issues that need to
be addressed before final sign -off.
'emended,
the trenches extend beyond the parameter of the building envelope. Snowmass Village will
✓/need to determine if this extension meets their criteria, or if the building envelope will need to be
amended, or I the system will need to be relocated.
A new as -built drawing is needed from the design engineer. The locations of the tank and trenches
have been changed. The as -built should reflect these changes.
e parts of the trenches have been installed up to 8 feet in depth. Inspection of the profile hole on
Zth
20/04 indicated water at the bottom of the 8 foot profile hole. There had been rain and snow during
days preceding the inspection. The installer indicated all soils during the excavation were dry.
Confirmation of depth to groundwater is needed. A boring could be done near the deepest end of
the trenches to assure there is 4 feet below the bottom of the trenches without encountering
groundwater.
If you have any questions regarding this permit, please give me a call.
Thank you,

Mr. Harrington,
Project No. 1036
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC performed an installation observation on November 5 and 11, 2004 for
the subject property.
The installation included one 1500 -gallon, two-compartment precast concrete septic tank with an
effluent filter on the outlet, followed by 806 square feet of drain field. The drain field consisted of 4
rows of 13 gravelless chambers, for a total of 52 chambers. A distribution box was installed to
distribute effluent.
The trenches were installed at a depth of 8 feet at the east end of the trenches. A secondary 14 -foot
profile pit was dug to confirm groundwater conditions. No water was observed on November 11,
2004.
The drain field was installed with the potential to construct a 2 -bedroom addition in the future. All
Service Septic, LLC, and the county must be contacted to view any additional construction.
The OWS was installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of
workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes
are made to the OWS.
Please call with questions.

Project No. 1036
Subsurface Investigation and Revised Onsite Wastewater System Design, Proposed Caretaker/Barn
1801 Wildcat Ranch Road
Homestead 11, Wildcat Ranch
Pitkin County, Colorado
Mr. Harrington,
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC performed a percolation test and a revised onsite wastewater system
(OWS) design for the caretaker unit at the subject property. The property is located in Wildcat Ranch,
in an area where OWS are necessary. Wildcat Ranch water service will provide water to the proposed
structure. This letter is to be used in conjunction with plans provided.
SITE CONDITIONS
There is an existing residence on the subject property, utilizing a drain field located to the south, as
indicated on Figure 1. The proposed IVIS. MY
ue to the size of the structure the drain field will be sized
based on 'he proposed addition habUmgq,,bedQo®ms and`b n 190U a> 66 5,aft
SUBSURFACE
The subsurface was investigated by excavating an 8 -foot test pit near the proposed drain field location as
shown on attached plans. The test pit indicated the site has a 6 -inch root zone layer, underlain by
sandy clay to the maximum depth explored of 8 feet. Groundwater was measured at 8 feet. No
bedrock was encountered.
Due to percolation rates and subsurface data obtained, the drain field should be placed over
percolation holes 4 and 5, as shown on plans provided.

OPERATION INFORMATION AND MAINTENANCE
The surface of the drain field should be seeded upon completion. Vegetation is an important factor in
drain field performance. Geo -fabrics or plastics should not be used over the drain field. Livestock
should not graze on the drain field.
The homeowner should pump the septic tank every two years and clean the effluent filter as needed.
Garbage disposal use should be minimized, and non -biodegradable materials should not be placed
into the OWS. Loading from a water softener should not be discharged into the OWS. No hazardous
wastes should be directed into the OWS. Mechanical room drains should not discharge into the OWS.
The OWS is engineered for domestic waste only.
INSTALLATION OBSERVATIONS
ALL SERVICE septic, LLC, and the county must view the installation during the OWS construction.
The OWS observation should be performed before backfill, after placement of chambers and
distribution pipes. Septic tanks, distribution devices, pumps, dosing siphons, and other plumbing, as
applicable, must also be observed. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified 48 hours in
advance to observe the installation.
LIMITS:
The design is based on information submitted. If soil conditions encountered are different from
conditions described in report, ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified. All OWS construction
must be according to the county regulations. Requirements not specified in this report must follow
county regulations. The installer should have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the
requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working.
Please call with questions.
