Dear Ms. Straight: As requested, a representative of Hepworth-Pawlak Geotechnical, Inc. conducted percolation testing at the subject site to evaluate the feasibility of an infiltration septic disposal system. The results of our work are presented in this report. The work was done in accordance with our agreement for professional services to you, dated June 21. 2000. A profile pit and three shallow backhoe pits had been excavated at the locations shown on Fig. 1 and percolation test holes had been dug and soaked prior to our site visit. The soils exposed in the percolation holes are similar to those exposed in the profile pit and consist of about 1 foot of topsoil overlying silty sandy gravel with scattered cobbles to the profile pit depth of 8 feet. Groundwater was not observed in the profile pit and the soils were slightly moist to moist. Percolation tests were performed on June 21, 2000 by a representative of Hepworth- Pawlak Geotechnical, Inc. The percolation test results are presented on Table I The percolation test results indicate an infiltration rate between 24 and 30 minutes per inch with an average of 28 minutes per inch. Based on the subsurface conditions obser% ed and the percolation test results, the tested area should be suitable for a conventional infiltration septic disposal system. If there are any questions or if we may be of further assistance, please let us know. Sincerely, HEPWORTH - P Jordy Z.
