Galena St Aspen CO 81611 Dear Tami, Attached please find a Tree Removal Permit Application along with 2 maps of my lot, Parcel 2. One map indicates the address, easement and boundary lines. You will see small circles on that map near the river. Those circles indicate the cottonwood trees that were cut down. It was too difficult to indicate the diameter of each tree trunk as it would have made quite a messy map. The smallest tree trunk is 4 Y2" wide and the largest is 18" wide (highlighted in yellow). The other map indicates the location of Parcel 2, the Highway and my home. My only Intention was to cut down the trees that were dead and to have a view of the river and mountains. I have no intention of removing the tree stumps as I know the roots will continue to grow and create an even stronger ground structure. I also have no intention of doing any other work or development to the area other than cleaning up the limbs. I do know the stumps will continue to grow limbs and the fact that I have a massive amount of trees and dense brush on my property, I do not feel there is a need to plant any additional trees. I have also attached pictures of the area showing the tree stumps of the trees that were cut. I was not aware I could not cut down trees on my own property, especially dead ones.
