AGENDA ITEM TITLE: Citizen Board Interview/Martha Campbell—Citizen Grant Review

ISSUE STATEMENT: Staff has been advertising regularly when there are any vacancies on Citizen
Boards. The Citizen Grant Review Committee has one vacancy due to Robin Van Domelen's recent
resignation. Martha Campbell is applying for this vacancy.
Steve Wickes was interviewed and appointed on July 13, 2016 for another vacancy on this board. If the
BOCC should approve Martha's appointment, she will assume Robin's term and this board will be
complete.
BACKGROUND:
Established pursuant to Resolution#155-2002 and the referendum passed by the electorate on November
5, 2002,providing a 5-year dedicated mill levy tax to support Health and Human Services and Community
Non-Profits. Requires the Board of County Commissioners to appoint five (5)members. The committee
shall include one or two youth representatives. Each committee member shall be a resident of Pitkin
County for a minimum of two years prior to appointment, shall be a qualified elector of the county if of
voting age, shall hold no other county or municipal office, shall not be employed by a municipality or
county, shall not sit on any board of directors of any non-profit applying for funding, and shall serve
without pay. Each member shall be appointed for a three (4) year term. All terms must be staggered.
The purpose of this board is to make recommendations to the BOCC regarding the allocation of the
dedicated human services and community non-profit(Healthy Community) fund.
