The reference in the Pitkin County Building Department is No. 1020. This analysis is based on site visit with yourself several weeks ago as well as my understanding of the proposed construction. It is my opinion that an engineered system can be designed and cosntructed on this property to meet Pitkin County Environmental Health Standards. I would anticipate that the engineered system would either be a mound system or an evapo-transporation (ET) system, both located ont he lower bench, adjacent to the Roaring Fork River but above the 100 year flood plain line. Additionally, I would anticipate that a septic tank would be constructed on the upper bench of the property immediately adjacent to the residence. Based on percolation tests conducted by the Envrionmental Health Officer, it would appear that the primary restraint on the property is high ground water table rather than the lack of a percolation rate. This is also to indicate that Schmueser Gordon Meyer, Inc. has been retained by yourself to provide the engineering services in conjnction with the ISDS. That design will begin once more detain has been generated with respect to an architectual site plan and architectual details.
