Any changes must be approved by this department and the design engineer prior to them being made. Minimum horizontal distances between components of the system and physical features shall conform to the Pitkin County ISDS regulations. The barn will be served by one 1000 -gallon, two compartment tank. There must be an effluent filter on the outlet of the tank. The line will go into the existing flow splitter basin and into the field for the main house. This department does not endorse any brand of products. This permit must be kept on-site during installation. The engineer must do a final inspection of the installation and submit an as -built letter to this department. This department must also be called for an inspection with a minimum of 48 hours advanced notice. The maximum fee is $1000. The basic fee of $600 is du., at the time of application. The installation included one 1000 -gallon, two-compartment precast concrete septic tank with an effluent filter on the outlet. The tank discharges to a chamber drain field south of septic tank. An as - built drawing is included. The septic tank was installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of workmanship and/or parts and materials. L l Ai t�4C�&L �CZ - Total average loading = 1446.2 GPD *Loading for the barn bathroom was erroneously reported as 57.6 GPD in the letter dated February 24, 2004, however this figure was not used in the calculations and did not affect the drain field sizing. Based on an average loading of 9W.2 GM a percolation rate of 11 minutes per inch, and a 501/o reduction in field size for the use of gavelless chamber -trenches, a totals of drain field area is required. A drain field size of 839 SF is required. A pacast concrete septic tank with an,> ust be installed at the proposed barn as shown on Figure 2. Nokrd 2119IN Based on geologic conditions, large difference in elevation, and evaluation of risk of contamination of kjf surface water and ground water, it is not necessary to add 8 feet additional distance for each 100 gallons of W1 wastewater per day of design flow over 1000 gallons per day as specified in the table to prevent contamina- tion. The 105 -foot separation from the proposed well and the 50 -foot separation from the proposed septic tank to the absorption area is appropriate to prevent contamination.
