RE: Wyly ISDS
Dear Shane:
It is my understanding from our phone conservation that the Wyly ISDS would be
changed from a Wisconsin Mound to a Standard Trench System. The following criteria
should be met for this system: A
\ f✓
1. A maximum depth of 42" from existing grade to bottom of trench.
2. Maximum 3' wide trench width. 401, FjV
3. Maximum 100' trench length.
4. Minimum 6' undisturbed earth between trenches.
5. A minimum 12" layer of 1/2" - 2 1/2" washed rock in bottom of trench.
6" below and 2" above distribution piping.
6. 10" uncompacted straw or hay, 2" layer of unlined fiberglass insulation
material or any approved synthetic fiber matting material to be placed
above gravel.
7. 10" minimum depth of topsoil from top of matting material to finished
grade.
8. Provide a distribution box to evenly distribute flow to trenches.
9. The bottom of the trenches shall be level.
10. Septic tank(s) capacity shall be 2,000 gallons.
11. Provide 1/4"/ft. minimum slope from house to trenches.
12. Meet all setback requirements of Pitkin County Regulations on
Individual Sewage Disposal Systems.
13. Follow applicable construction notes and detailing of Wisconsin Mound
as previously submitted.
14. Provide 10 mil PVC liner on dewatering trench wall adjacent to
absorption trench where horizontal separation is less than 25'.
