.Septic permit approved per compliance with the engineer design and specifications dated June 8, 2000. Any
changes must be approved by this department and the design engineerrfior to them being•made.
Minimum horizontal distances between components of the system and physical features shall conform to the Pitkin
County ISDS regulations.
Design is to upgrade an existing system by adding the following: (1) a 1,000 gallon concrete one compartment tank
in front of the existing tanks, (2) an effluent filter on the outlet of the last tank, (3) a new distribution per Figure 2 of
the old system and the addition of two beds, each bed 2 chambers wide by 14 chambers in length. 56 additional
chambers will be added to the existing 64 chambers for a total of 120 chambers. (4) No pump Is required for this.

This department does not endorse any brand of products. The engineer must do a final inspection of the Installation
and submit an as -built letter to this department. This department must also be called for an inspection with a
minimum of 48 hours advanced notice.

Plans and specifications of the pro sed individual sewage disposal system have been reviewed and are considered
satisfactory. Permission is hereby granted to the owner or the agent to perform the work indicated in accordance with the Pitkin
County ISDS Regulation in effect at the time of issue. This permit becomes invalid 6 months from the date that the permit was
issued unless system construction has commenced or an extension has been approved in writing by the Department.
As -built drawl must a Included with this permit before the final approval will be issued.

Mr. Glickman,
As requested, we observed the installation of the onsite wastewater system (OWS) upgrade for the subject
site on October 17, 2000. The system was designed under our Job No. 12478, dated June 8, 2000.
The existing OWS included two 1000 -gallon septic tanks and 1152 square feet (SF) of trenches with
infiltrators. The upgrade OWS includes the installation of a 1000 -gallon, two-compartment, precast
concrete septic tank with an effluent filter on the outlet, and two chamber -beds. Each bed has two rows
of 14 chambers, for a total new infiltrative area of 2020 SF. The original plastic distribution box was used
to access the existing and newly installed drain fields. An as -built drawing is included as Figure 1.
The components of the OWS were installed in conformance with our plans and specifications.
