AGENDA ITEM TITLE: Special Event Liquor License Application for the
Buddy Program
STAFF RESPONSIBLE: Jeanette Jones
SUMMARY OF ISSUE: The Buddy Program has applied for a Special Event Liquor
License to sell malt, spirituous and vinous liquor for an event to be held on July 6, 2017 from
6:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. at the Merry Go Ranch, 1650 McLain Flats Road, Aspen, CO 81611.
Notice of the public hearing on this application was posted on the premises and published in
the paper and posted on the web within ten days prior to this hearing. Additionally, the
applicant has filed an application with the Community Development Department for a
Special Event Permit. Staff will give the board the status on that application at the hearing.
The application and diagram of premises to be licensed are attached.
BACKGROUND: A Special Event Liquor License has been issued for this function for the
past several years and there have never been any issues associated with the event.
KEY DISCUSSION ITEMS: Staff and the applicant will be present at the meeting to
answer any questions the board might have.
RECOMMENDED BOCC ACTION: Approval of a Special Event Liquor License for
the Buddy Program
