This permit was required due to your desire to remodel your existing home. Without an ISD5 permit being issued, we would not have been able to sign off on your building permit to remodel your home. You must have your I51)5 permit finaled by June 15, 2000. The steps for finaling the permit include: installation of the system, calling Environmental Health to conduct a final inspection of the system installation, calling your engineer to conduct a final inspection of the system instcllation, a final letter and as -built drawing of the system being submitted by your engineer to Environmental Health. Enclosed is a copy of your I51)5 permit. Our efforts to work with you to have this system installed and bring this ISD5 permit to completion have failed. As was previously stated, we must be able to final your ISDS permit by June 15, 2000. If the permit is not finaled by this date, we will record a copy of this letter against your property as public notice of non-compliance. This plan has been revised for a groundwater depth of five feet and the inclusion of sand to raise the bed and maintain four -foot separation from groundwater to bottom of bed. It was also noted that the design flow of 1750 gallons requires a setback of 110 feet from the irrigation ditch, based on the eight -foot rule over 1000 gallons of design flow. The irrigation ditch is located on the western portion of the property running south to north. It is my opinion that, because the leach field is located below the existing irrigation ditch in elevation, there will not be a chance for the leach field to contaminate the irrigation ditch water. This was an informational letter for own:.rs who had actually installed their systems. It was done as a mass mailing to everyone who was issued a septic permit in 1997 and assumed that all the systems permitted in 1997 had been installed and had been in use for 2 years and probably should be pumped. Enclosed is a copy of the permit that was issued to you on 8/11/97. No final inspection of the installation of this system has been done by this department nor by the engineer. A "Final Inspection Approval' cannot be given on this and we cannot sign off on the Certificate of Occupancy (CO). I have enclosed a copy of the sign -off sheet for the CO which indicates that Scott was last contacted by our department on 12/15/98 he said he planned to finalize the ISDS this past spring. Please call me and let me know if you are installing it this fall.
