As you recall, we previously submitted a design that considered using a sand filter type system for effluent disposal at the Otte residence in Brush Creek Village. Subsequently, during construction it was determined that the bedrock was not capable of providing adequate percolation for this system. Therefore, based upon our field visit with yourself, Mike Otte, and Charlie Monovere the system has been revised in the following manner: Inside plumbing in the house would provide for separation of washing machine flows to a separate grey water system. The remaining flows from the house would be directed to lined ET beds. In addition, water saving devices would be used within the house. Our attached calculations reflect the separation of the washing machine flows from the average daily flow, in addition, they reflect the reduction of average daily flow from use of low use fixtures. We have attached a sketch of the grey water trench which will provide for the disposal of the washing machine flows. We have also attached a sketch of the evapotranspiration bed (typical of 5). You will also find attached a sketch of a distribution box that would need to be installed and the typical construction of the ET bed. As you will n to from the design calculations, we have found that 5 ET beds and the grey water trench will be able to fit on site between the secondary fault and the property line. Construction of these facilities will also be capable of locations within the setbacks as required by Pitkin County code. To date, we have inspected the installation of the two lowest ET beds, but snow has hindered construction of the remaining three. The remaining three ET beds will be staged uphill of the already constructed two. The installation of the 1500 gallon septic tank for the plack water, the 500 gallon septic tank for the grey water and the distribution box still need to be installed. January 4, 1 91 Mr. Robert N lson Page 2 I hope this information serves its intended purpose. If you have any questions or comments, lplease do not hesitate to call.
