In talking to Bob Mayo he agreed to move the dry gulch that carries
run-off approximately 3 to 4 days a year in the spring to further than 25 feet
away from the absorption area. This particular dry gulch has been filled in
already in the vacinity of the absorption area and can, in the natural
course of water flow, be brought along the road cut.

NARRATIVE:
I went to see Bob Mayo with Dutch Leidholdt, and
he was not happy that I had brought the State people to see him. He
said if I wanted to call him a liar I could put on my boxing gloves,
in response to my questions on the system that yet needs to be rectified.
He at first said he wasn't going to do anything about it. After he
cooled down I asked him again, and he said he would do what he had to
do to enlarge, but not until the owner payed him the money he owed him.

Bob 2Rayo finally extended the leaching field for{.the Meyer property.
However, he neglected to call for a final inspection and the system was back-
filled and covered over without inspection or approval. This is in violation
of the Pitkin County Individual Sewage Disposal Regulations. What action do
the Commissioners recommend be taken?
AIA0 , please find enclosed a drawing of the five (5) lots that Mr. Mayo
is now working on.
It appears to me that the practice of putting a portion of one sewage
disposal system on another lot is going to cause problens in the futur-
especially considering the presence of individual water systems on s,:.;e lots.
The leaching field for lot 8 is located on lot 1. To date, there is
no recording of an easement for the leach field, even though this was made a
condition on the permit for final approval. The field has been back f".1led.
Due to the location of the leach field and the topograph,,, `; is
difficult to ima€?ine where secondary systeris could be placed wh -n the initial
systems faij., and still confoin to the regulations.

Dear Bob,
On behalf of the Board of County Commissioners I want
to thank you for bringing your permit problem to us.
I trust that the matter was settled to everyone's satis-
faction, and want to thank you for your cooperation in agree-
ing to extend the leaching field within one month's time.
Also, as we determined at the meeting, future permits, if
they are in order, will be processed regardless of the status
of pending permits.

The purpose of this letter is to clarify the position of this
Department concerning individual sewage disposal and water systems on several
of the lots in Brush Creek Village on which you have constructed houses.
Inasmuch as the absorptions field for the 'Moyer resieence loe^rted
on Lot 3, Block 1, Filing 1, of Bru.'-- Village re,r:.ains fah hila pro sed
sewage disposal system, and has not received the timely, specifies repairs
necessary to bring it into eoMliance with Pitkin County regulatiks, we feel
it necessary to deny any further permits until corrections are completed.
Regarding Lot 1, Block �X, Filing 1, no sewage disposal syster.+
will be issued until the following conditions are met:
1) Completien of spec: f { ed repr. lr . can Lot 3.
2) Excavation of an eight (8) foot soil profile hole in the
vicinity of the seepage bed.
3) Evidence and approval of a properly recorded easement if
the proposed location is to be used.

The proposed water supply system for Lots 2, 7, and 8, Block 1,
Filing 1, Brush Creek Village, is classified as a public water supply and sant comply

Act. This has been previously mentioned during our conversation of July,
1975. with Ralph Leidholdt and Bob Kopf of the Colorado Department of Healtwv
Fmgineering Section.
