All materials and installation practices shall conform to FitkIn County Individual Sewage Disposal System Regulations as amended. Topsoil shall consist of on-site material free from rocks and broken shale pieces. Natural material shall, be amended with mountain peat at a rate of 2 cubic yards per 1000 square feet. :,. Seed mix shall be applied at a rate of 6 lbs. per square feet. Mix shall consist of tall fescue and brome ( SC> -50 mix) . 4. Sand shall be clean washed material with an effective size between .-25 mm and .6 mm with a uniformity coefficient of 4.0 or less. 5. Gravel shall be 1/2" to 2� 1/2" washed gravel. 6. Filter fabric_ shall be Dupont TYPAR :' 41 or equivalent. 7. Select backfill shall consist of natural materials removed from the excavation mixed with -7Q cubic yards of pit run gravel. Backfill shall be compacted to 85 percent density (ASTM T99) prior to installing the gravel course. 8. Piping shall conform to the following requirements: a) Building sewer lines shall be 4" cast iron installed at a minimum depth of 4" with a minimum grade of 4%. b) Grey water effluent lines shall be " Schedule 40 PVC with a minimum grade of 4%. c) Distribution sewer lines shall oe 4" Schedule 40 Perforated FVC installed at Cl% grade. With all necessary controls built into the unit, it is ready to connect. All solids are ground to a particle size fine enough to pass easily through the pump, check valve and small .diameter pipe lines ... even objects which should not be in sewage (plastic, rubber, fiber, wood, etc.). The two 11/4 inch discharge connections can be joined requiring only a 11h inch or 2 inch line. They can be adapted -to any piping material which meets local code requirements. The check valve assembly, integral in each core, is custom designed for non -clog, trouble free operation. The GP 214 has an integral. baffle which divides the tank into two equal parts and splits the flow between the pumps. For instance. one GP 214 can effectively handlethe normal flow of domestic wastewater from a3 many as four single family dwellings, six apartments or eight motel units_ The GP 214 offers added advantages in pressure sewer systems for existing areas, as well as new developments. Its ability to handle multiple dwellings reduces the number of units needed in a system, and thereby reduces the cost of the system. The drawinq has been revised based upon a field location of the facilities drawn on November 22, 1989. As you are well aware, the topo supplied for the design of the ISES was not representa- tive of the site. we were able to field locate the beds so they would provide minimal impact upon the site and would not be subject to the massive cut for the installation of the ETA beds. we have identified on Sheet 1 of 2 (shown shaded) the facilities as field located on November 22, 1989. You will note that the beds are drawn such that they are parallel to the contours ( as observed in the f ield) . Mr. Ukraine provided water saving devices in the residence, thereby allowing the bed sizes to decrease from the previously shown dimensions to 140 feet long by 15 feet wide. Basically, the function of the system will remain as previously designed. we requested that we be on site to investigate the construction of the beds so that cut slopes in final condition are not unstable. we have also requested that the beds be lined so that water infiltration into the native soils will not significantly reduce the stability of the existing banks. All materials, installation practices, setback requirements, etc., shall comply with the Pitkin County Individual Sewage Disposal System Regulations. 2. The E.T. bed shall be constructed so that the bottom is level + 0.1 inches. Place bed in natural ground; no portion of the bed shall be placed in fill. 3. Provide adequate surface water diversion to assure that runoff does not enter the evapo-transpiration bed. 4. Stone shall be 1/2" to 2-1/2" screened rock. 5. Sand shall be 0.5 to 1.0 mm effective size with a uniformity coefficient of 4 or less. 6. The recommended bed seeding is blue grass at 4 to 6 lbs/1000 soft. All other areas disturbed by construction shall be reseeded with native grasses to prevent erosion. 7. The location of the bed may be adjusted in the field to better fit the site, provided all setbacks are met. 8. Drain holes in 4" perforated pipe to be at 30" spacing (2 holes per spacing, 7/32" �f located downward). 9. 4" PVC tees should not be glued to enable observations of water level in system and to remove excess salts accumulation or surplus water, if necessary. 10. Ilse risers as needed to bring septic tank access hatch within 6" of finished grade. 11. Cast iron pipe or pipe of equal strength or other pipe properly supported to prevent failure by settling shall extend from tank for a distance of at least five feet (5') from the inlet and outlet ends. 12.
