I was not satisfied with the leaching field or the septic tank. The outlet "T" was broken on the top and should be replaced. The field was approximately 20' X 50'. This would make it 1000 sq. ft. and not 1200 sq. ft. that Troxel indicated that he would put in, due to the slow perc. rate . COL LETTER TO FOLLOW: ( ) OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS: DATE: August 27 19z3—. One is owned by Mary Helen Cantell. It has a sewage disposal system installed by Ron Troxel in 1973• They are building a guest house on this site, one bedroom, one bath, but no kitchen. It may be feasable to tie into the present system, given the size of the leach field and septic tank as indicated to me. The leach field is probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500 to 1600 square fee an the septic is lOQO gallon .6 cont ete. '«'f?&Z>1 at 044 We then went next door to take a look at a lot owned Mr. adn Mrs. Pope. This particular lot is located right next door to the one I looked at before, a fairly level piece of ground, a reasonably clear area in front of the building site. Preliminary investigation reveals that unless we have problems with the pert rate, a conventional septic tank, seepage bed would present no problems in functioning adequately. LETTER TO FOLLOW: ( ) OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS: DATE: 19 ES: 7 (Rev. 6-70-100) REPRESENTATIVE: DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH COUNTY OF PITKIN P. 0. BOX 1025 ASPEN, COLORADO 81611 MEMO r To: Patsy Newbury, Building Inspector From: Bob Nelson, Sanitarian Date: 8/18/75 Subject: Sewage Disposal System on lot R4, Starwood, owned by Mary Cattel / ^ I -A This department has investigated the sewage disposal system in use at the above residence and find it in compliance with current Pitkin County sewage disposal regulations. Inasmuch as there is a 1000 gallon tank and 1200 square feet of absorption area, as recorded on the permit issued in 1973, this department feels that no increases in the sewage -disposal system will be required for the addition of one more bedroom, a bathroom, and a sitting room, as indicated would be added by the contractor, Frank Pecjak. The original system was designed for a two bedroom house as required by minimum standards set in standard regulations and the residence on the property right now is only one bedroom. A building permit can be issued. r ... ^.ae: lCS;t'°'r':-a= q a`r:.Y;t.&s': u,::a',>;an^ ..: ,.1i► /, j?C1 TEST HOLE I TEST HOLE II Y Reading Drop Time Reading Drop Time R R Vw /7 Z P7 -C PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS: HOLE I Minutes per inch (HOLE II 120 Minutes per inch Average percolation rate: Z z ( Minutes per inch Comments on soil and/or site: Address: Signature: TEST FEE $25.00, payable in Advance r 0 141a 1• n s4 AFFIDAVIT (Percolation Test) c3-i, being first duly sworn upon his oatb tnder penalty of perjury, states, avers and certifies as follows: 1.
