(1) Inundation of the foundation excavation should be avoideu during
construction.
(2). Backfill around the building should be moistened and compacted to
at least 90% standard Proctor density.
(3) The ground surface surrounding the exterior of the building should
be sloped to drain away from -the building in all directions. A
minimum 10 foot distance should be maintained on the uphill side.
(4) Roof downspouts and drains should disci-iarge well beyond the limit -.s
of all backfill.
(5) Landscaping which requires excessive watering and lawn sprinkler
heads should be located at least 10 reet from the foundation walls
of the building.
Percolation Test Results: Three percolation holes were drilled at the
locations shown on figure 1. Percolation test results are presented on
Table II. The percolation rate measured in the three holes ranged between
20 minutes per inch and 40 minutes per inch. Based on the soil profile
and percolation test results, a standard infiltration bed systeM is feasible
at the site.
Limitations: This report has been prepared in accordance with generally
accepted soil and foundation engineering practices in this area for the
use by the client for design purposes. The conclusions and recommendations
submitted in this report are based upon the data obtainer from the test
holes drilled at the locations indicated on the test hole plan. The
nature and extent of variations between the test holes may not became
evident until excavation is performed. If during construction, soil and
ground eaater conditions appear to be different from those described
herein, this office should be advised at once so that re-evaluation of
the recommendations may be iT-Lide• roco.-mnend on-site obscivation of:
excavations and foundation bearing strata by a soil engineer.
